This topic describes the features of the Collaboration Office Tools Add-In available for users with Office 2007 clients. For information on using the Collaboration Office Tools Add-In with Office 2003, see Using the Collaboration Office Tools Add-In (Office 2003).
The Collaboration Office Tools Add-In appears as a new tab called Collaboration in the ribbon of any Office 2007 application. The Collaboration Office Tools Add-In lets you choose from several check-in options and type check-in comments. It also lets you perform tasks such as viewing a document's Oracle WebCenter Collaboration properties and emailing the notification link for a document. If Pathways integration is enabled, you can apply Pathways tags to a document before checking it in.
Note: The Collaboration Office Tools Add-In cannot be used until at least one project has been created in Oracle WebCenter Collaboration.

The File section of the Oracle WebCenter Collaboration ribbon tab allows you to perform document check-in and check-out operations. The following table describes the options you have when checking in and checking out documents.

If your administrator has enabled Pathways integration, you can apply tags to the document by typing new tags in the Tags box. Click Check In. The version of the document is updated and your comments and the Pathways tags are added to the new version. |

Check in a new version of a document and keep the document checked out and open for additional editing. In the Check In dialog box, type your comments in the Comments box. If your administrator has enabled Pathways integration, you can apply tags to the document by typing new tags in the Tags box. Keep the document checked out. Your changes are saved to the existing version of the document and the version is not updated. You cannot add comments to the document when using this option. |

The Advanced section of the Oracle WebCenter Collaboration ribbon tab allows you perform tasks such as viewing the Oracle WebCenter Collaboration properties for a document and copying or emailing the notification link for a document.
Note: The Advanced section is only available when you open a document by using the Check Out button in the File tab.

View the Oracle WebCenter Collaboration properties for the document. If your administrator has enabled custom properties, you can edit the values of existing custom properties. Click Save in the Collaboration Properties dialog box after editing custom properties. Note: If you edit custom properties and click Save in the Collaboration Properties dialogue box, these changes are saved immediately and are not undone if you undo check out for the document. |
Copy Link to Clipboard |
Copy the notification link for the document to your clipboard. You can then paste the link directly into a web browser or the body of an email. |
Send Link via Email |
Create an email that contains the notification link to the document. Outlook must be configured on your computer to use this feature. |
Tag Document |
Available when Oracle WebCenter Collaboration is integrated with AquaLogic Pathways and when you have the Access Pathways activity right. Apply Pathways tags to the document. Type the tag names, separated by commas, in the text box then click Apply Tags. For more information about Pathways tags, see Using Pathways Tags. |
