RSS feeds allow Oracle WebCenter Collaboration users to view updates to the functional areas and objects in their Oracle WebCenter Collaboration projects through any compatible RSS reader. Events that trigger a notification email also trigger an update to the corresponding RSS feeds. RSS feeds are available only if your administrator has enabled the feature.

Personal |
Each Oracle WebCenter Collaboration user has a personal RSS feed. Feeds that you have subscribed to via the RSS notification type will be added to your personal RSS feed. |
By default, when a user views an RSS feed, the portal login token is used to determine which objects the user has permission to view in Oracle WebCenter Collaboration. The RSS feed displays only the events for those objects. RSS feeds are also secured, by default, with basic authentication. If users attempt to view an RSS feed without a valid portal login token, they are prompted to enter their portal user ID and password in a basic authentication challenge box. For information on how to secure RSS feeds, see the Administrator Guide for Oracle WebCenter Collaboration.
