If you are using Windows XP, Windows 2003 or Microsoft Vista and have the Bulk Upload to Collaboration activity right, you can use Microsoft Windows Explorer to view and manage the documents of various Oracle WebCenter Collaboration projects from your personal computer. Before you can access these documents, you must first map a web folder, which is the root folder that exists on your personal computer that is associated with Oracle WebCenter Collaboration. For more information about Web folders, see About Web Folders.
To map a Web folder in Windows XP or Windows 2003:
Select a project in the My Projects or Community Projects portlet.
Click the Documents tab in the application view.
In the action bar, click in the
New button, and,
from the drop-down menu, select Web Folder.
Copy the URL in the Web Folder Location box.
Open My Network Places on your desktop.
Double-click Add Network Place. The Add Network Place Wizard appears.
Click Next.
Select Choose another network location.
In the Internet or network address box, paste the URL; then click Next.
If prompted, enter your name and password, then click Next.
In the Type a name for this network place box, type a name, then click Next.
Click Finish.
A new network place is created and your Oracle
WebCenter Collaboration is mapped on Windows Explorer.
Note: Mapped Web folders should not contain Windows folders whose
names include the # or :
characters. Windows folder names that include these characters appear
incorrectly within Oracle WebCenter Collaboration projects.
To map a Web folder in Microsoft Vista:
Select a project in the My Projects or Community Projects portlet.
Click the Documents tab in the application view.
In the action bar, click in the
New button, and,
from the drop-down menu, select Web Folder.
Copy the URL in the Web Folder Location box.
Open Map Network Drive on your desktop.
Click Connect to a Web site that you can use to store your documents and pictures.
Click Next.
Select Choose a custom network location, then click Next.
